Delete your OnlyWallet account
You can delete your account and everything linked to it at any time, straight from the App. It takes effect immediately and cannot be undone.
Effective 22 October 2026
Delete it in the App
- Open OnlyWallet on your phone or in the web app, sign in and unlock your vault.
- If you want to keep a copy, go to Settings, Backup and export an encrypted backup first.
- Go to Settings, then Danger zone, then Delete account.
- Enter your master password. It is checked before anything is deleted.
- Type
DELETEto confirm. - Sign in with Google again when asked, so we know it is really you.
When it finishes, you are signed out and your account no longer exists.
What gets deleted
- The "OnlyWallet Vault" folder in your Google Drive, with every encrypted file in it, if Google Drive is connected at the time.
- Every record in your account: items, attachment records, payments and payment history, profiles, sections, reminders, device push tokens, your encrypted profile and any OnlyWallet Cards you published.
- Your vault keys. Once they are gone, any encrypted copy left anywhere can no longer be decrypted.
- Your sign-in account in Firebase Authentication, and OnlyWallet's access to your Google account is revoked.
- Your sharing public key, and every emergency access grant you gave or received.
- Spaces that only you belong to. For a space you share with others, you leave it, or it is handed over to another member, so their records are not lost.
- On this device: the offline copy, edits waiting to sync, biometric unlock, scheduled reminders, the clipboard and temporary files.
What may remain
- Your Drive folder, if Drive was not connected when you deleted. The App tells you if this happened. The files in it are encrypted and cannot be opened without your deleted keys, but you should delete the "OnlyWallet Vault" folder from Google Drive yourself.
- Records you added to a shared space, which belong to that space and stay for its other members, along with anything they already saw or saved.
- Anything a trusted contact already read through emergency access, or saved to their own vault.
- Document links you created stay openable until they expire (31 days at most). Revoke them from the item first if you want them closed now.
- Encrypted backup files you exported, wherever you saved them. They can be restored with their backup password, so delete them if you no longer want them.
- Other devices where you are still signed in keep their offline copy until you sign out there or clear the site data. It is encrypted and its keys are gone.
- Emails you have sent us, for up to one year after the matter is closed, and residual copies in Google Cloud backups, which are overwritten within a limited period.
Deleting single items instead
Deleting an item moves it to Recently deleted, where you can restore it for 30 days. After that it is removed for good. You can also choose Delete now there.
Can't use the App? Email us
- Send an email to [email protected] from the Google account email you use to sign in to OnlyWallet.
- Use the subject line
Delete my OnlyWallet account. - Never send your master password or recovery phrase. We will never ask for them.
We reply within 72 hours to confirm we received it. If the request comes from a different address, we will ask you to prove you own the account first. We delete your account and the data we hold within 30 days of verifying the request and email you when it is done. We cannot reach your Google Drive, so we will remind you to delete the "OnlyWallet Vault" folder there yourself.
