Getting started

Create your vault in the web app at app.onlywallet.in. Android and iPhone apps are coming soon and use the same account.

Sign in with GoogleYour Google account identifies your vault and syncs it across devices. It never unlocks it.

Who: EveryoneWhere: Welcome screen

  1. Open app.onlywallet.in in your browser.
  2. Read the intro cards and tap "Get started".
  3. Tap "Continue with Google" and pick your Google account.
  4. If you see "Could not sign in", check your connection and try again.
  • Use the same Google account on every device to reach the same vault.

Create your master passwordThe one password that encrypts your vault. Nobody can reset it for you.

Who: New usersWhere: Setup

  1. Type a master password of at least 10 characters.
  2. Watch the strength meter. A password rated Weak is not accepted.
  3. Type it again in the confirm box.
  4. Wait a few seconds while the app shows "Securing your vault". Deriving your key takes a moment on purpose.
  • A passphrase of four or five unrelated words is easier to remember and harder to guess than a short complex password.
  • Common words such as cricket, india or a city name lower the score.

Save your 24-word recovery phraseThe only way back into your vault if you forget your master password.

Who: New usersWhere: Setup

  1. Write the 24 words on paper, in order, exactly as shown.

  4. Type the three words the app asks for ("Word #n") from your written copy to confirm.
  • The phrase is shown once and never stored. Keep the paper somewhere safe at home.
  • Losing both the master password and the phrase means the vault cannot be opened by anyone, including OnlyWallet.
