Grievance redressal

If something has gone wrong with OnlyWallet or with how we handle your data, tell us. Here is who to write to and what happens next.

Effective 22 October 2026

This page sets out how Beyond Basics handles complaints, as required by the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, the DPDP Rules, 2025 and the Information Technology (Reasonable Security Practices and Procedures and Sensitive Personal Data or Information) Rules, 2011.

Email a grievance

What you can raise

  • A request to access, correct, update or erase your personal data.
  • Withdrawing consent, or nominating someone to act for you.
  • A concern about how we collect, use, share or protect your data, including a suspected breach.
  • A problem with a space, an emergency access request or a document link that involves you.
  • A problem with the App or Website that we have not fixed through normal support.

Many requests are faster in the App: you can edit any record, export an encrypted backup from Settings, Backup, and delete your account from Settings, Danger zone.

What we cannot do

Your vault is encrypted with keys only you hold. We cannot read your documents, reset your master password or recover a vault whose master password and recovery phrase are both lost, even in response to a grievance. We can explain, correct or delete the data we are able to read, which is listed in the privacy notice.

How to write to us

  1. Email [email protected] with the subject OnlyWallet grievance.
  2. Write from the Google account email you sign in with, if your complaint is about your account.
  3. Tell us what happened, when, and what you would like us to do.
  4. Add screenshots if they help, with sensitive numbers covered. Never send your master password or recovery phrase. We will never ask for them.

You can write in English or Hindi.

If someone else stored your data

A family member may have stored your documents in their own vault or in a family space. That content is encrypted under their keys, so we cannot see or remove it. Please ask them first. If your email address appears in a space or an emergency access grant you did not agree to, write to us and we will help.

If you are not satisfied

After you have used this process, you can complain to the Data Protection Board of India under the DPDP Act (details are published by the Ministry of Electronics and IT at meity.gov.in). The Board generally expects you to raise the grievance with us first.
